Sinclair Bayview: A haven in the Emerald Isle

ETW STAFFMumbai

Located on the seafront, Sinclairs Bayview in Port Blair is at a 15 minutes driving distance from the airport and the main shopping centre. It is the only hotel in Port Blair with majority of the rooms facing the sea, along with private balconies where the guests can enjoy the majestic views of the vast turquoise ocean. The property offers 43 rooms and three suites, built in a series of levels, split against a sloping hillside, with majority of the rooms overlooking the sea. All the rooms are equipped with CCTV, direct dial STD telephones and coffee/tea making facilities. 'The Palm' is a seaside garden restaurant with an extended garden deck where one can enjoy multi-cuisine fare. The freshwater outdoor swimming pool is open all year round. The 'Coral Bar' with its elegant interiors and tempting selection of cocktails and snacks is best visited in the evenings. 'The Oyster' is an air-conditioned hall that accommodates up to 50 guests. It is ideal for small meetings, workshops and private parties.

Key attractions

Once in Port Blair, make a trip to Havelock Island- 'The island campers’ paradise'. Havelock is ideal for nature lovers, island campers and offshore adventure aficionados. Take the three hour-long journey by boat from Phoenix Bay Jetty, Port Blair, after which a bus will take you to Radhanagar Beach. The cozy camping tents set amidst dense forests, long stretches of golden sand and the hypnotic blue-green sea make Radhanagar beach a dream destination.

A major attraction in Port Blair is the Cellular Jail and its son-et-lumiere show. The prison fans out in seven wings, stands three stories high and has a total of 698 cells. Other sight seeing options include the Chantham Saw Mill, the largest and oldest saw mills in Asia, the Mini Zoo that houses rare species of endemic birds and animals, and Mt. Harriet, the highest peak in South Andaman. Ross Island is the seat of the pre-Independence British administration. The island is ideal for swimming and is also a birdwatcher’s paradise.

Sinclairs Bayview is one of the best stay options in the Andamans. The hotel is situated in an idyllic location and is a quiet getaway. So whether you are holidaying, honeymooning or conferencing, your time in the Andamans will be unforgettable and even more so when you stay at Hotel Sinclairs Bayview.
